Kevin Harty me ha enviado información sobre un congreso de temática medievalista que tendrá lugar en Albuquerque, Nuevo México, en octubre. Os adjunto el programa. Podréis comprobar que habrá tres comunicaciones de temática ibérica: el «Merlín» de Albéniz, el Grial del monte Cebreiro de Galicia, y la «Última Fada» de Emilia Pardo Bazán. Kevin tendrá una plenaria sobre Walt Disney y Robin Hood. Mucha suerte Kevin, aunque no te hace falta. Será un éxito.

Hola a todos:
Ya he vuelto de Estambul, donde me ha ido bastante bien, y aprovecho un ratito para contaros novedades relacionadas con Clytiar.
1) Mario Botero, nuestro compañero de Clytiar, va a publicar un libro sobre Tristán en Francia. Enhorabuena. En un adjunto tenéis información sobre el mismo.
2) Nuestro compañero Roger Simpson ha publicado en el «Volume 21 – Number 2» de Arthuriana el artículo titulado: «Sacred Relics: Travelers and the Holy Grail». Enhorabuena. Se trata del trabajo que Antonio Fernández ha traducido al español para nuestro libro.
3) Una revista española dedicado a la divulgación histórica, Clio, ha publicado un número especial todo él dedicado a temas artúricos. Han hecho muy buen trabajo en mi opinión y está repleta de bonitas ilustraciones. Os he escaneado la portada. Ved el adjunto. La revista tiene esta página web: www.cliorevista.com. Nada más entrar hay una sección llamada «Números atrasados». Os lo pueden enviar por correo a donde queráis. Es el especial número 9 de abril de 2011. Muchos quioscos lo tendrán todavía.
4) Ha salido el siguiente libro (ved adjunto): «Victoria Cirlot: Del mito del Grial al surrealismo. Barcelona: Siruela, 2011». Como sabréis Victoria Cirlot es una de las intelectuales e investigadoras españolas más prestigiosas. Ya tiene otros libros de temática artúrica y este volumen es sin duda una gran aportación al arturismo español.
5) Nuestro compañero Kevin Harty ha publicado el siguiente libro: Vikings on Film (MacFarland 2011). Ved el adjunto. Enhorabuena. Kevin no es todavía miembro oficial de Clytiar pero alomejor se anima pronto. Él será quien escriba la introducción de nuestro libro. Aparte, Kevin, la revista Clio acaba de publicar un artículo sobre los vikingos en España titulado: «El fracaso de los vikingos en Hispania». ¿Quieres que te lo envíe? En Filadelfia cualquiera te lo podría poner en inglés.
6) Finalmente, no os preocupéis, estoy revisando los trabajos que ya han llegado y pronto os escribiré con comentarios: los que ya teníamos (Joan/Sheila, Roger/Antonio, Alma, Almudena) y el de Mario, que me acaba de llegar. Los demás, por favor, animaos.

I am back from Istambul, where I had a great time. So right now I have found some time to write you and tell you some clytiarnews.
1) Mario Botero, our fellow Clytiar member, is about to publish a book on Tristam in France. Congratulations. You have some info in one of the attachments.
2) Prof. Roger Simpson has just published in Arthuriana 21(2) an artilce entitled: «Sacred Relics: Travelers and the Holy Grail». It is the same text that we will publish in our book in Spanish translation. Antonio Fernández did the translation work.
3) A Spanish magazine devoted to popularizing history, Clio, has just published a special issue on Arthurian subject matters. They did a great job in my opinion and it is full of beautiful illustrations. I have scanned the front cover. See attachment. This is their web page: www.cliorevista.com. If you enter it you will see a section named «Números atrasados» [back issues]. They can send it anywhere through the post. It is special issue number 9 (April 2011). I guess that it can still be bought from your local newstands if you are in Spain.

As you probably know, Victoria Cirlot is one of the most reputed Spanish intellectuals and researchers. She has already published some other books on Arthurian subject matters. This one is no doubt a landmark in the field of Spanish Arthurian Studies.

Hoy mismo parto (creo que soy el último en escapar) de vacaciones de Semana Santa y Pascua. Aparte de unos días de descanso ocupado, tengo un congreso en Estambul, Turquía, donde espero no pasarlo nada mal.
Antes quería deciros que me llevo de tarea, para revisar:
El capítulo de Joan, traducido por Sheilo

El capítulo de Alma
El capítulo de Almudena
Respecto al resto de los capítulo, como he acordado con cada uno de vosotros, espero que vayan llegando en las próximas semanas.
Aparte, ayer revisé el programa del congreso artúrico de julio en Bristol y he visto que muchos de nosotros estaremos allí. Es una oportunidad para tomarnos un café todos juntos.

I am about to beat the road and begin my Holy Week and Easter holidays. I guess I am the last one to leave. I have a few days of busy relax ahead and a conference in Istambul, Turkey. I am looking forward to it very much.

Hoy es 15 de diciembre y por ello la Navidad, las fiestas y las vacaciones se hayan muy cercanas. Aprovecho la ocasión para desearos a todos una muy feliz Navidad.
También se acerca el plazo del 31 de diciembre para entregar los primeros originales del libro de Clytiar. Supongo que algunos de vosotros tendréis dificultades para cumplir dicho plazo. En principio no es un gran problema, no tenemos tanta prisa. Ya me diréis.

Para conocerla un poco mejor, por supuesto, podéis acudir a nuestra página, donde encontraréis sus datos. Pero quiero añadir que Clytiar se siente muy honrado y complacido de recibir en su seno a una estudiosa artúrica del prestigio y la trayectoria de Joan Grimbert, de la que tanto tenemos que aprender y aprenderemos. Somos muy afortunados.

Os escribo para anunciaros que tenemos un nuevo miembro en nuestro grupo: Claudia Demattè, de la Universidad de Trento, Italia. ¡Bienvenida Claudia! Para conocerla un poco mejor, por supuesto, podéis acudir a nuestra página, donde encontraréis sus datos. Claudia enviará pronto un resumen para nuestro futuro libro, que os daré a conocer en cuanto sea posible.
Por otra parte, ayer terminé de recibir las respuestas de los que participáis en el libro por lo que se refiere al plazo de entrega. El sentir muy mayoritario es que no os será posible cumplir el plazo del 30 de junio. Por ello, creo que esta propuesta es mejor:
– Entrega: segundo semestre de 2010, desde el 1 de julio al 31 de diciembre.
– Si lo podéis entregar al principio de este periodo mejor, para ir adelantando trabajo, corriendo y revisando los originales.
– De todas maneras, aunque sea poco a poco, id metiéndoos en el trabajo de búsqueda de datos y redacción provisional. ¿De acuerdo?
